Our Impact
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1 in 5 children ages 3–17 lives with a mental, emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorder, yet only a fraction receive the care they need. Behind these numbers are children and families often facing isolation and uncertainty.
For nearly 40 years, Brady Therapeutic Riding has helped bridge that gap by providing life-changing equine-assisted programs for hundreds of children, youth, and families across the Bay Area. Through the unique partnership between horses and humans, participants build confidence, resilience, communication skills, and meaningful connections that extend far beyond the barn.
Our impact reaches well beyond those we serve directly. Brady has become a community where families find support, volunteers discover purpose, and young leaders grow through service.
Each year, students from schools including St. Ignatius College Preparatory, Convent & Stuart Hall, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, and San Francisco University High School—along with volunteers from National Charity League, Service Corps, and many other community partners—contribute thousands of hours caring for our horses and supporting participants. Many tell us that Brady changes their lives as much as it changes the lives of those they serve.
Together with partners such as SF CASA and the National Council of Jewish Women, Brady continues to expand access to children and families who can benefit most from the healing power of horses.
Every rider, volunteer, family, partner, and horse is part of the Brady story—and together, we're building a stronger, more compassionate community.
